Auditions at Unity Theatre
All of our plays and musicals are cast by the directors of each individual show, with the assistance and approval of the Executive Artistic Director. Auditions are an important part of the process and we respect and encourage the efforts of all who seek to audition for Unity Theatre.
General Auditions for the 2026-2027 season were held on June 15, 2026. Next year’s General Auditions date will be posted here when it has been determined.
For general auditions, Kate Revnell-Smith, Unity’s artistic director, likes to see two contrasting monologues (a maximum of 3 minutes each), a headshot, and resume.

Please note: If you attend the Houston Alliance Auditions Kate will have already have seen your work and have you in our files. These General Auditions are primarily for talent new to Unity.
Hiring at Unity Theatre
Technical Director:
We are currently accepting applications for a Technical Director.
Technical Director: $1950.00 per production and onsite housing provided for workers as needed.
Responsibilities include: supervise and participate in construction of scenery for plays. Must have experience building scenery, and knowledge of standard theater construction methods. The ability to do cost-outs and material orders. A proven track record meeting deadlines and supervising workers required. Oversee strike after production closes.
Unity Theatre is located in Brenham, Texas – 90 minutes from Houston, and operates as a professional non-profit theatre. Unity Theatre was founded in 1995 and is a 150-seat intimate theatre that offers a variety of plays and musicals throughout the year.
